Distraught Kilkenny woman returns home to find home ransacked and cash stolen

A county Kilkenny woman returned home to discover her home had been broken into and some cash in foreign currenty had been stolen while she was away.

The break-in occured at a house in Pollagh, Skeoughvosteen, Goresbridge, sometime between 9.40am last Saturday and 5.30pm on Sunday.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “The homeowner returned to her house to find an upstairs bedroom had been ransacked and some foreign currency had been taken.”

Gardai said the burglar gained entry via a front window of the property.
