Drink and drug driving madness: Kilkenny gardai issue appeal as drugged-up motorist clocked doing 171 kmph
Seven drink and drug drivers were busted by local gardai in the space of seven days.
Kilkenny gardai have renewed appeals to motorists not to drink under the influence of an “intoxicant” as they confirmed the latest arrests.
On Friday, gardai in neighbouring Carlow arrested a driver who was clocked speeding at 171 kmph before testing positive for opiates.
In another recent case, gardai in Castlecomer arrested a learner driver who was found to be almost nine times over the legal alcohol limit. The driver was charged and was due to appear before Kilkenny District Court.
