Motorist caught driving erratically in Kilkenny tests positive for cocaine

A drug driver was arrested after he was caught driving erratically in Kilkenny city.

He was stopped by Kilkenny Garda Roads Policing Unit on the Callan Road on Friday after they recieved reports from concerned members of the public.

Gardai carried out a road side oral fluid test on the driver. The test came back positive and a further sample was taken at Kilkenny Garda Station.

A local Garda spokesperson commented: “Analysis to follow and a career change will be mandated on successful prosecution.”
