Drug driver and passengers caught in breach of Covid travel rules at Kilkenny checkpoint
A man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after he was stopped at a checkpoint in Kilkenny yesterday.
Gardai also confirmed that three passengers in the same vehicle will also be prosecuted for being in breach of Covid travel restrictions.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “One driver who met a checkpoint in Kilkenny today failed a roadside fluid test and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
“His three passengers although not culpable for his alleged offence are to be prosecuted for breaching Covid travel restrictions.”
Kilkenny gardai again urged people to obey the Covid restrictions, adding: “Let’s all mind ourselves.”
