Drugs seized after gardai break up gathering of people drinking in Kilkenny city

Gardai seized a quantity of illegal drugs after they broke up a gathering of people drinking at a public park in Kilkenny city.

A local Garda spokesperson said the drugs were recovered after one of the group was searched by officers.

The spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí on patrol in the city observed a number of people drinking in a park. A search was carried out one of the group was found to be in possession of €500 diamorphine and €150 cannabis.”

Gardai said the investigation into the case is “ongoing”.
