€110,000 worth of drugs destined for Kilkenny seized by gardai

TWO people are due to appear in court after gardai seized cocaine, ecstasy, and cannabis worth €110,000 destined for the Kilkenny drug market.
A man and a woman, both in their mid-30s are due in Carlow District Court today on charges of misuse of drugs for the purpose of sale and supply.
Speaking with KilkennyNow.ie, a garda spokesperson said: “The drugs seized were destined for Kilkenny. We estimate the find to be in the region of €100,000.”
Yesterday afternoon, gardai arrested a 35-year-old man from Dublin after stopping and searching his car in Co Carlow.
Members of the Divisional Drugs Unit found four- kilos of cannabis in the car, along with a quantity of ecstasy tablets.
The man was arrested at the scene and brought to Carlow Garda Station and charged.
He is set to appear before Carlow District Court this morning.
In the first incident, a woman in her mid-30s was stopped on Johnswell Road, in the Beechlawns area of Kilkenny city, around noon yesterday.
During the street search, members of the Divisional Drugs Unit fund €9,000 worth of cocaine in her possession.
She was brought to Kilkenny garda station and charged. She is to appear before Carlow District Court this morning.
