€9,000 of cocaine stashed in wall beside community pitches where kids play

AROUND 100 grammes of cocaine were found in a stash hidden beside local authority playing pitches used by teams of all ages in Kilkenny city.
The drugs, estaimted to be worth €9,000, were discovered by gardai hidden in a wall at the Water Barracks pitches, close to the city centre last Friday afternoon.
Gardai believe the cocaine was stashed there waiting to be collected before being distributed and sold to the local market.
The drugs find was the result of an intelligence led operation carried out by gardai in Kilkenny. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the find.
