Elderly county Kilkenny resident robbed by four masked burglars in his home

An elderly county Kilkenny man was subjected to a traumatic experience after four masked men broke into his home and robbed him.

The shocking incident occurred at a property in Ballyshane, Inistioge, shortly after 7pm on Tuesday night.

A local Garda source told KilkennyNow: “Four males entered the house where there was one sole male occupant the intruders searched the house and left with a small amount of cash.”

While the elderly resident was unharmed, it is understood he was left shaken after he was physically manhandled during the incident.

Gardai have urged anyone who noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area or anyone who may have had a stranger call to the house or who has CCTV in the area is asked to contact Thomastown Garda Station.
