Thieves in the woods: Gardai probe bizarre theft at county Kilkenny woodlands

GARDAI are hunting for thieves who stole firewood from a well-known county Kilkenny woodland area over a four-month period.

The firewood was stolen from Trenchmore Woods outside Callan between May 1 and August 31. However, the bizarre theft only recently came to light.

A local Garda spokesperson said: “The off cuts that were set aside to be sold as firewood were taken over a period of months.”

Gardai have appealed to anyone with information regarding the theft of the firewood to contact Callan Garda Station on 056 770 6630.
