Yule be amazed at flaming Christmas treats Kilkenny has in store this weekend
THE city will be transformed into a Christmassy wonderland this week as Yulefest Kilkenny plays host to fire dancers, High Kings and Santa Claus himself!
On Saturday, the FirePoise performers will fan the festival flames as they wow crowds for free at the MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre.
They’ll perform their amazing street-style circus act, while the FirePoise elves will be on hand to teach kids basic circus skills, including poi spinning, hula hooping and more.
Butler House will play host to none other than Santa Claus, and its Christmas Garden will be transformed at dusk as magical light installations come to life.
Children will get the chance to play with toy soldiers, reindeer and a skating snowman, take an ‘Elfie’ with friends in Santa’s sleigh and to meet the great man himself in his outdoor grotto.
Meanwhile, Hotel Kilkenny will be packed to the rafters on Sunday night as The High Kings return to take centre stage in the city.
The chart-topping foursome’s DECADE World Tour began with a sold-out tour in Ireland in early December 2017 and will run until the end of April 2019, taking in stops in every major territory across the globe.
The theme of this year’s Yulefest Kilkenny is #shopkilkenny.
