Garda appeal for witnesses to fatal road crash in county Kilkenny

Gardaí have issued a renewed appeal for witnesses to a fatal road crash in county Kilkenny.

A male pedestrian in his 80s was seriously injured in the collision, which occurred in Mooncoin at around 7.30pm on Saturday, September 21. He was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin for treatment, but later died from his injuries.

Gardaí today appealed for any witnesses to the collision to contact them.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Any road users or pedestrians who were in Mooncoin village at the time or travelling through on the N24 between 7:00pm and 8:00pm and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
