Garda chopper has bird’s eye view of South Kilkenny as Operation Thor swings into action
THE Garda Air Support Unit had a bird’s eye view as their colleagues on the ground swung into action for the latest chapter of the ongoing Operation Thor targeting organised criminals in Kilkenny.
The Garda chopper snapped this panoramic view of Graiguenamanagh as gardai manned checkpoints on the ground.
Thirty people were arrested for a wide range of criminal activities in the latest planned operation in South Kilkenny last week, which involved up to 60 gardai.
It was the 30th such crackdown in the Carlow-Kilkenny Garda division over the past four years.
Nineteen people were arrested for wide variety of offences including drugs, assault, burglary, theft, criminal damage and sexual assault.
A further 11 people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
