Gardai hunt vandals who targetted cars in Kilkenny city overnight

GARDAI are hunting for vandals who caused criminal damage to two cars that were parked in the city over the weekend.

They are seeking the public’s help in relation to two separate incidents, one in Ayrefield between Saturday night and Sunday morning and the other at College Avenue, which occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.

In the Ayrefield incident, a blue Volkswagen car had its back window smashed in. The owner parked the car at 8pm on Saturday and they reported the damage after they returned to the vehicle the following morning.

In College Avenue, a car was vandalised sometime between midnight and 3.50am on Monday.

Gardai believe these incidents would have created noise and have urged anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the areas at the above times to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
