By COLIN BARTLEY
KILKENNY residents are being asked to keep an eye out for one of the UK’s most wanted criminals, who authorities believe has fled to Ireland.
Alfred Philip Dear (45), the ringleader of an organised crime gang in Yorkshire, remains on the run almost six-month after being sentenced to 21 years in prison.
Dear and his drug-pedaling associates were jailed for more that 102 years for conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine to the Yorkshire market, but the drug lord failed to appear in Leeds Crown Court for the verdict or sentencing.
Authorities believe he fled to Ireland, and the Gardai are liaising with British Police to track him down
Alfred Philip Dear is described as being 5ft 10′ in height, with grey hair, with a broad Yorkshire accent.
A garda spokesperson said: “Anyone with an immediate sighting of him, should contact the gardai.”
