‘An absolute gentleman’ – warm tributes paid to popular Kilkenny barber
Warm tributes have been paid to the popular Kilkenny barber Billy Brett, who died yesterday.
Billy, who was well-known throughout the city through his barber shops in Rose Inn Street and the Gaol Road, will be buried tomorrow.
Billy’s death notice on RIP.ie said he died “peacefully, at his home and in the loving care of his family”.
Many people eexpressed their condolances to Billy’s family and to pay tribute to the popular Kilkenny man.
One person said: “The world is a poorer place without Billy. His contribution to the many community activities will continue long after his presence.”
Another described Billy as “an absolute gentleman”, adding: “May he rest in peace.”
