Lucky Kilkenny punter turns tiny €2 bet into €30,000 windfall
One lucky Kilkenny punter turned a tiny bet of just €2 into a €30,000 windfall when all his five horses came in.
The anonymous winner picked up over €29,500 off a €1 each-way accumulator with BoyleSports on Tuesday.
The punter picked out five horses and – within just 45 minutes of the first race finishing – saw his first four choices hoofing it for the winners’ enclosure.
Victories for Little Boy Blue (4/1) at Brighton, Dark Moon Rising (10/3) and Ugo Gregory (16/1) at Beverley and Flying Moon (9/1) at Ayr had him off to a dream start.
Attention then turned to the 2.20 at Beverley, where the narrow distance of a neck was enough for 7/1 shot Violette Szabo to make it five winners from five and trigger the massive payout.
The €2 stake had been turned into a tidy €29,586.79 windfall.
BoyleSports spokesperson Lawrence Lyons said: “It was a case of low risk and high rewards for our Kilkenny customer so fair play to them for taking such an ambitious approach.
“It has paid off spectacularly and we send huge congratulations to them on their big payday,” added Lawrence.
