Revamped Kilkenny Castle Playground won’t be ready in time for good weather

THE NEW playground in Kilkenny Castle will not be ready in time to take advantage of the great weather.

With temperatures set to soar to 25 degrees over the coming days, many locals and tourists alike would be expected to flock to Kilkenny Castle grounds to relax and use the playground.

The new playground is set to feature a wheelchair accessible roundabout and a sensory wall, as well as a new rubber surface.

A spokesperson for the Office of Public Works (OPW) confirmed to KilkennyNow.ie: “We are frustrated to say the playground will not be opened to the public during this good spell of weather.

“We had hoped to have the playground at Kilkenny Castle opened in time for this weather, but circumstances outside our control have dictated otherwise.”
