Gift horse: Kilkenny punter scoops €30,000 on five horse bet

A lucky Kilkenny punter was close to €30,000 richer after a five-horse bet he laid all romped home.

The delighted punter, who wishes to remain anonymous, turned a €18.60 bet into a whopping €28,786.11 in just three hours.

They laid a 30c each way Lucky 31 on five horses running yesterday afternoon.

They saw their first horse Excalibur come home at Sedgefield at 15/2. Something Sweet then got up at a race in Thurles at a price of 15/2, before Theatre Run came in at 6/1 in the next race at the Tipperary course.

The last two legs of the bet were running at Newbury, Azzerti coming in at a tasty 10/1 before the last horse, Son of Camas, romped home at 9/1.
