‘God rest your beautiful soul’ – warm tributes to tragic Kilkenny schoolboy as his funeral details are announced
Funeral details have been announced for the young student who died in an accident at school.
In his death notice, the family of Harry Byrne, of Clover, Gowran, said: “Our dear Harry left us suddenly and unexpectedly.”
The notices said his passing is “deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Fergal and Annette, his adoring brothers and sister Jake, Aimee and Sam, his much cherished grandparents Teresa Byrne , Martin and Mary ( Nolan ) , aunts, uncles, grand aunts, grand uncles, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of friends”.
Harry will repose at his home tomorrow evening from 4pm to 7.30pm before being removed to the Church of the Assumption in Gowran for requim mass at 11am on Friday morning, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Harry’s funeral mass can be viewed live by pressing the link here.

One well-wisher said: “God rest your beautiful soul. God bless your mam dad brothers sisters uncles aunts and grandparents. May God look down on you all and give you all strength. I am shocked heartbroken for you all.”
A ‘Kilkenny Mum’ added: “Heartbroken for the tragic loss of your lovely Harry, as a Mum of 3 hurling boys I cannot imagine your loss … I hope the love support and compassion you receive from your friends and family hold you in a warm embrace and help you navigate times ahead … thinking of you all at this devastating time.”
