Green light for new 138-bed hotel and apartments in heart of Kilkenny city

The local authority has given the green light for a new hotel and developments of short-let apartments in the city-centre.
Kilkenny County Council has approved planning permission for the development in Walkin Street.
An existing wholesale warehouse on the site will be demolished to make way for the new development, which will consist of a detached four-storey hotel with 138 bedrooms.
The bedrooms will be located on the upper three floors of the hotel above the lobby and entrance. A new bar and restaurant will also be located on the ground floor.
Permission has also been granted for 34 one-bed and two two-bed apartments, which will be located in a detached building on the site and will be available for short terms lets.
