Green shoots: Kilkenny one of just three counties to report decline in vacant premises

Kilkenny is one of just three counties in the country to report a decline in vacant commercial properties.

The commercial vacancy rate in Kilkenny decreased by 0.2% to 12.4% in the second quarter of 2020,

The figures, for the second quarter of the year, are from the GeoView Commercial Vacancy Report which provides an analysis of the commercial building stock across Ireland.

Neighbouring Wexford (-0.3%) and Kildare (-0.3%) also reported a decline in their vacany rates.

The average vacancy rate for Leinster is 12.6% and 13.3% in Munster. Connacht has by far the highest rate of vacancies with an average of 17%.
