Kilkenny records biggest drop in pollution cases in entire country

Kilkenny has recorded the largest drop in environmental pollution cases in the county.

In 2018 Kilkenny Council Council recorded 1,437 cases of air, noise, water, litter and waste pollution.

But within just 12 months, this figure dropped a fuill 28% to just 1,035 pollution cases, the greatest proportional decrease recorded by any county in the country.

The figures are revealed in the National Oversight and Audit Commission’s Local Authority Performance Indicator for 2019, which was published recently.
