Hitting the right note – Kilkenny bar named best in region

A HUGELY popular Kilkenny bar which hits all the right notes has been named the best in the region.
Matt the Millers on John’s Street has just been announced as the Best Music Pub in the South East by organisers of the Irish Pub Awards.
The bar on the River Nore becomes the third from Kilkenny to represent the South East at the Irish Pub Awards.
Malzards Bar in Stoneyford recently won the region’s Best Tourist Pub, while Paris Texas in Kilkenny was announced as the Most Innovative Bar in the South East.
According to organisers, Matt the Millers was selected as it: “Introduced innovative and creative live/recorded music entertainment options that demonstrate an exciting atmosphere and are making a positive impact.”
Matt the Millers now hopes to pick up the national prize when the winners of the awards are announced at a gala night in Dublin in November.
