Divine intervention: Thieves fail in attempt to rob money box from county Kilkenny church

Thieves attempted to steal a box full of money envelopes from a church in county Kilkenny town.

The incident happened at The Church of the Immaculate Conception on Kilkenny Street in Castlecomer last Saturday morning.

A local Garda source confirmed the thieves attempted to remove the envelope box from the wall of the church, located just inside the door on the back wall. But they failed to remove the box and then fled the scene.

Anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously near the church at the time is asked to contact Castlecomer Garda Station on 056 4440650.
