‘I will miss your unique take on life’ – tributes to man killed in county Kilkenny road tragedy
Tributes have been paid to the driver of a car who died in a fatal single-vehicle collision in county Kilkenny on Monday.
John Dollard, who is from Kilmacow, died after his car crashed on the $448 near Smithfield in Mullinavat at around 9.30am.
Mr Dollard’s remains will repose at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home in Grannagh, Kilmacow, from 5pm to 7.30pm this evening.
His funeral will take place tomorrow St. Senan’s Church, Kilmacow, at 11am, followed by burial in St. Kieran’s Cemetery in Kilkenny.
Warm tributes have been paid to the deceased online. One former schoolfriend of Mr Dollard posted: “We had some unforgettable escapades then and we stayed in contact down through the years. I will miss your unique take on life.”
Mr Dollard is pre-deceased by his wife Margaret.
His death notice on Rip.ie said: “John will be sadly missed by his children, Kevin, John, Frank and Mary, daughters-in-law Fiona, Michelle, and Ruth, and his beloved grandchildren Aoife, Niamh, Sean, Daniel, Maeve, Ellen, Lucy, Jack, Anna, and Ciara, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, extended family and friends.”
Meanwhile, gardai are appealing for witnesses to the tragic collision, in particular motorists who may have dashcam footage, to contact them on 051-305300.
