Kilkenny community groups awarded €245,000 in pandemic support funding
Two local community groups have been awarded a total of €245,551 in financial support through the Government’s Covid-19 Stability Fund.
Details of the funding were announced by Kilkenny Fine Gael TD John Paul Phelan. Deputy Phelan said: “I am delighted that the fourth tranche of Covid-19 Stability Funding worth €4.29 million will be provided to organisations nationwide.
“Two community and voluntary groups as well as social enterprises in Kilkenny are set to receive over €245,000 in funding from the Dormant Accounts Fund. This includes €200,000 for Castlecomer Demesne CLG as well as €45,551 for Mount Carmel Supported Care Home.”
The Ferrybank-based TD (pictured below): “The Covid-19 stability fund is designed to support community and voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises that are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the pandemic.
“The past few months have been extremely challenging for these organisations in Kilkennny city and county and elsewhere and they need support.”
