Kilkenny homeowner shaken after waking to discover burglars had just broken into their house

A county Kilkenny resident was left shaken after they woke up only to discover burglars had been inside their house.

The incident happened at a house in Tinnaranny, near New Ross in South Kilkenny, at 5am on Monday, May 11.

The homeowner was awoken by a noise and went to investigate. They noticed a velux window in an upstairs room was opened. It also appeared somebody had rummaged through some of the rooms.

They went downstairs and then noticed that outside the house some of their belongings left on the ground. There was no sign of anyone on the property.
