Kilkenny Lidl customers warned about Christmas text scam
LIDL has issued a warning to Kilkenny customers to beware of a scam text message doing the rounds in the countdown to Christmas.
The scam text messages are being sent to people, claiming to be from Lidl, saying that the recipient has won a prize in a Christmas draw.
A Lidl spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie: “Please be aware of a scam text message being sent around with our name on it.
“It’s not affiliated with us at all, and it may be harmful to your phone or charge you.
“Please do not open any texts that appear to have been sent by Lidl. As a company, we don’t communicate any offers or information to customers via text, so anything received via text message is most definitely a scam.
“The only offers and competitions we run can be found on our verified social media channels, our app and website. If you have any concerns regarding suspicious texts which claim to be sent from Lidl, please call our customer service team on 1800 201080.”
