Kilkenny motorway closed after serious crash involving multiple vehicles
A section of the motorway in county Kilkenny is closed this morning following a serious collision involving multiple vehicles.
The incident happened on the M8 Motorway close to Urlingford around 7am this morning, when the motorway was covered in heavy fog.
A lorry and two cars came together in the incident on the southbound carriage way between J4 Urlingford and J5 Twomileborris.
Emergency services are still at the scene and expect the motorway will remain closed southbound until further notice.
A Status Yellow Fog warning issued overnight for the whole country has now been extendend until midday today (23rd).
Motorists are being urged to drive with extra care, using fog lights, but don’t forget to turn them off when they’re no longer necessary.
