Kilkenny people wanted to share their local knowledge with visitors
By COLIN BARTLEY
FÁILTE Ireland is looking for Kilkenny people to help grow the local economy and become a local tourism expert.
Over 80 individuals and representatives from the Kilkenny tourism and hospitality sector are already part of Fáilte Ireland’s KNOW Kilkenny Local Experts Programme.
The national tourism board is hosting another workshop aimed at finding more people in the tourism sector or those in the local community who are willing to interact with visitors to Kilkenny city and county.
The Local Experts Programme is part of an initiative by Fáilte Ireland to develop a network of local people who share knowledge and interact positively with visitors to Kilkenny.
Fáilte Ireland is inviting B&B owners, hotel, restaurant, pub or retail workers, taxi drivers or people who are active in their local community to their network workshop next week.
It takes place in the Hoban Hotel on the Ring Road on Wednesday, October 2.
