Kilkenny school unveils extension plans to create extra space for students
A county Kilkenny primary school has put forward plans to expand it facilities to create extra space for its students and for special learning.
The Board of Management of Our Lady of Lourdes National School in Slieverue in South Kilkenny has sought permission from the local authority to build a large extension onto the existing school building.
The proposed construction would see the construction of a new single storey extension consisting of a new classroom, two new resource rooms, one new assisted user wc and a new link corridor to the existing building.
The works would also see the conversion of an existing classroom into two new offices for administrative purposes.
The mixed-gender school currently caters for around 225 students.
A decision on the application is expected by October 15.
