Sláinte! Kilkenny is craft beer capital of Ireland this weekend

GREAT beer, tasty food and sunny skies are the order of the weekend as Brewfest returns to Kilkenny.
Following last year’s success, Brewfest returns to Sullivan’s Taproom on John Street this Friday and Saturday, offering the finest Irish and international beers, along with DJs and wood-fired pizzas.
Brewfest is the festival celebrating all things craft beer. And this year beer connoisseurs will be able to sample over 30 beers along with new wines and spirits.
Mark Tormey, operations manager for the Wine Centre and Sullivan’s Taprooms, told KilkennyNow.ie: “We have new breweries and they’re all going to be limited edition brews. These include beers from international breweries such as BrewDog, Garage, Lervig and Firestone Walker. The finest beers from Irish breweries such as Whiplash, Porterhouse, Kinnegar, Yellowbelly, Wicklow Wolf, O’Hara’s, 12 Acres and 9 White Deer will also be available.”
Mark said he expects this weekend’s event to be even bigger and better than last year’s festival.
He added: “The first year was absolutely brilliant. We had such great weather for it last year and over 600 people came through the doors over the day and a half of Brewfest 2018.
“This year we have 10 breweries, we have 35 taps and we have our always popular Fever Tree Gin Garden back. There’s something for everyone. We have wines and spirits in our standard bar also. We have our pizza oven up and running and a barbeque.”
