Four Kilkenny community groups battle it out for ‘Pride of Place’ award
Four Kilkenny community initiatives are in the running for one of Ireland’s most prestigious awards.
Clogh Village, the Castlecomer Discovery Park, the Ferrybank Allotment Project and the Callan Town Team are among the 82 groups to have been nominated for the 18th Annual All-Ireland Pride of Place Gala Awards Ceremony, which will take place online on Saturday.
The Pride of Place awards are an all-island competition that acknowledges the work communities are undertaking and how people are coming together to shape, change and improve daily lives in their communities.
The awards promote and celebrate the best in community development and recognises the selfless efforts of people in making their local area a better place to live and work in.
RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey will host the event, which gets underway at 7pm on Saturday 21. The ceremony will be streamed online.
