Kilkenny hurling stars promise a fang-tastic family day out at Gowran Racecourse

KILKENNY’S senior hurling heroes will be joined by some of the stars from the National Reptile Zoo for what promises to be one of the most fun-filled family events of the year this Bank Holiday Monday.

The annual Kilkenny Senior Hurlers Race and Family Fun Day at Gowran Racecourse promises to be even bigger and better this year.

The action-packed day will feature no fewer than seven top class races, along with a best dressed competition – for gents as well as the ladies!

And there’ll be a huge range of fun activities for the kids, with a BBQ and garden party, bouncy castles and bungee jumps. Also making a special appearance will be some of the star attractions from the nearby National Reptile Zoo.

The gates open at 12pm on Monday, with the first race getting underway at 2pm. There will be free buses to the event from Kilkenny castle from 12pm.

Admission is €15, although concession tickets are available from local clubs. Under-16s are free.
