Kilkenny’s John Nolan and celebrity partner Mairéad dance their way into quarter finals of hit RTE show
KILKENNY dancing star John Nolan and his celebrity partner Mairéad Ronan are through to the quarter finals of the hit RTÉ show.
Last night the pair again impressed the judges as they danced an American Smooth to Robbie Williams’ cover of Beyond the Sea, and the judges were quick to take up the nautical theme.
Julian quipped “after that performance I’d go cruising with you”, saying he felt like he was on the love boat!
He added that the dance was “elegant, it was graceful and you lilted across the floor”.
Brian thought it was “more cross-channel ferry than cruise ship chic” but added: “Apart from the arms I thought it was beautiful.”
Lorraine added: “For me I think the presentation is very beautiful.” She also complimented John and Mairéad’s foxtrot, saying: “It’s faultless really.”
And she urged the popular duo to give more as they approach next week’s quarter finals, adding: “It’s more we want, but a little is holding back, at this stage, let it go.”
The judges gave John and Mairéad a total score of 22 points.
Elsewhere, former Dublin GAA star Denis Bastick become the sixth celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.
After the voting lines closed it was revealed that Denis and Valeria would dance off against Clelia and Vitali, with both couples hoping to hold onto their place in the competition.
But only one couple could remain, and the judges voted to save Clelia.
Dancing With The Stars returns on Sunday at 6:30pm to RTÉ One for a Eurovision themed quarter final.
