Kilkenny’s run to camogie final rewarded with four All-Stars

Kilkenny’s run to the 2019 All-Ireland Camogie final was recognised with four of the ladies picking All-Stars awards over the weekend.

The Cats, beaten by Galway in this year’s final, got two awards in the backs and two in the forwards, with one of the Kilkenny girls receiving her first All-Star.

St Martin’s Edwina Keane picked up her second All-Star when she was named at left corner-back in the team of the year.

Claire Phelan of Lisdowney, picked up her first All-Star when named at centre-back.

Windgap’s Denise Gaule was named at centre-forward on the All-Star team, her third All-star and Michelle Quilty of Mullinavat won her third All-Star when she was named at right corner-forward position.

2019 All-Ireland Champions Galway walked away with the most prizes, getting seven places on the team of the year. Waterford received two All-stars, while there was one each for Cork and Limerick.
