LATEST: 1,501 new cases of virus confirmed
A further 1,501 people have contracted the coronavirus, the Department of Health confirmed this evening.
That’s an increase of 140 from Thursday’s total.
The number of people currently being treated for Covid-19 in hospital has risen to 169, an increase of nine on yesterday’s figures.
Some 23 patients are now in ICU, three down on yesterday’s total.
