LATEST: 337 new cases of virus as hospitalisations drop significantly
A further 337 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening while numbers in hospitals across recorded their first significant drop in a week.
The Department of Health reported 89 people are being treated for the virus in hospitals, a fall of 10 on yesterday’s figures.
A total of 34 people are now being treated in Intensive Care Units, one less than yesterday’s figure.
However, the department warned the number of cases may change due to future data validation amid the disruption caused by the cyber attack on the HSE’s system.
