LATEST: 56 more Covid deaths as over 3,000 new cases of virus confirmed
A further 3,174 more poeple have contracted the coronavirus, the Department of Heath confirmed this evening.
And the number of patients now being treated in hospital with the virus now stands at 460, of which 86 are in ICUs.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan also revealed 56 people have died Covid-19 since last Wednesday, bringing the total number of Covid-related deaths to 5,492.
