LATEST: Kilkenny among 542 new cases of virus as two further deaths confirmed
A further two people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 542 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
It brings the overall death toll as a result of the virus to 1,947. There are now 65,394 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPTHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 181 are in Dublin, 59 in Donegal, 50 in Limerick, 36 in Cork, 25 in Kildare with the remaining 191 cases spread across 20 other counties, including eight more infections in Kilkenny.
