LATEST: Kilkenny among 769 new cases of virus as two further deaths confirmed
Two more people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 769 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
The overall death toll as a result of the virus now stands at 4,587. A total of 230,599 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded to date across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follow: 284 are in Dublin, 67 in Donegal, 47 in Offaly, 45 in Meath, 44 in Kildare, with the remaining 282 cases are spread across 20 other counties. Six new cases were recorded in Kilkenny.
