LATEST: Kilkenny among 539 new cases of virus as one further death confirmed

One more person has died after contracting the coronavirus as 539 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,667. There have now been 235,078 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 262 are in Dublin, 32 in Kildare, 30 in Westmeath, 26 in Galway, 21 in Meath, 21 in Offaly with the remaining 147 cases spread across 20 other counties.

Less than five cases were again recorded in Kilkenny.
