LATEST: No new cases of virus in Kilkenny for first time in weeks, 45 further deaths confirmed nationally

For the first time in many months, no new cases of the Covid-19 virus have been recorded in Kilkenny.

However, a further 45 people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 575 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,181. There have now been 216,300 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 218 in Dublin, 38 in Galway, 35 in Louth, 27 in Limerick, 26 in Westmeath and the remaining 231 cases are spread across 20 other counties, no new cases were recorded in Kilkenny.
