LATEST: Over 7,500 new cases of virus confirmed
A further 7,694 people have contracted Covid-19, the Department of Health confirmed today.
The new figures consist of 3,342 PCR-confirmed cases and 4,352 positive antigen tests registered through the HSE portal.
As of 8am , 653 Covid-19 patients are in hospital, up 37 from yesterday, of whom 46 are in ICU, a drop of two from yesterday.
