LATEST: Record high of 179 new cases of virus in Kilkenny
A further 10 people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 6,521 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
It brings the overall death toll as a result of the virus to 2,307. There has now been 127,657 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 2,174 are in Dublin, 571 in Cork, 382 in Limerick, 342 in Waterford, 315 in Wexford with the remaining 2,737 cases are spread across all other counties, including 179 further infections in Kilkenny.
