LATEST: Walk-in booster clinics open as 4,791 new cases of virus confirmed

A further 4,791 people have contracted Covid-19, the Department of Health confirmed today.
The number of people being treated in hospitals around the country for the virus has fallen by 35 to 536.
Of these, 121 patients are receiving treatment in intensive care units, an increase of three from yesterday.
Meanwhile, walk-in booster Covid-19 vaccination clinics are in operation in several counties, for healthcare workers and people aged 60-69, the HSE has said.
Yesterday it was annoucned that booster jabs will be offered to everyone aged 16 and over following new recommendations from the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC).
