New €400k CCTV cameras to help Kilkenny gardai combat crime in city
A new state-of-the-art CCTV system to will help gardai fight crime in Kilkenny city will be installed in 2020.
Kilkenny County Council this afternoon approved its 2020 budget, and has set aside €400,000 for the new CCTV system.
A total of 21 cameras will be installed at key locations across Kilkenny, from the city-centre to the Ring Road.
The high-definition cameras will produce a picture so clear the operators will be able to read the writing and details on insurance and tax discs on car windscreens.
