Lights, camera, action! RTÉ TV crew begin filming in Billy’s Tearooms in Ballyhale
BALLYHALE will be a hive of excitement and activity today when a TV crew from RTÉ popular Nationwide programme descends on the village.
Presenter Anne Cassin (pictured above) will be in town to film a series of interviews for a special programme on the success of a special non-profit venture that has been a lifeline for the local community – Billy’s Tearooms and Shop.
Since it opened its doors, Billy’s Tearooms and Shop has been a massive hit with the people of Ballyhale and surrounding areas.
Aside from the quality of the food, the initiative has proved to be a vital social focal point for the village.
In a message to customers and everyone who has supported the venture, Billy’s Tearooms and Shop said the Nationwide programme is “a huge boost” for the whole community.
It added: “It is a recognition that working together everything is possible. This would not be happening without the hard work of our Committee, our four ladies, Marian, Helena, Eileen and Lisa who work the 60 hours we are open to produce wonderful food, our students, our fabulous volunteers, those who have worked for us behind the scenes and most importantly, our Community, who have supported us non-stop since August 2015. We hope you will call in next Wednesday, join us and become part of our success story on the day.”
The RTÉ crew will arrive this morning at 10.30am and expect to be filming until around 3pm.
Members of the public are invited to drop by at any stage to take part in the occasion.
“Our Tea Rooms and Shop belongs to us all, our success is down to everyone and it is only right that we all join in and celebrate what is an outstanding success,” the venue added.
