Kilkenny and Carlow councils unite for cross-border development plan
An information meeting discussing a unique and innovative plan seeking to kick-start development in a Kilkenny town and a neighbouring Carlow village, is being held this evening.
The Local Area Plan for Graiguenamanagh and Tinnahinch in Carlow, which has been created by both Kilkenny and Carlow County Councils, will be up for consultation.
The plan aims to develop business and employment in the area, while tackling problems such as shop vacancy rates. It will address heritage, leisure and tourism, as well as housing, health services, childcare, green issues, natural amenities and public transport.
The councils have come together to develop the Local Area Plan for the area, which looks at its development for the next six years.
The public information evening is being held in the Hub in Graiguenamanagh and begins at 7.30pm this evening. Submissions and suggestions are being sought from the public, with final submissions due by November 22.
