Verdict returned at inquest into death of Kilkenny ‘Angel’ who died at Kodaline concert

The verdict of the inquest into the death of a 17-year old Kilkenny girl who died after falling ill at a concert was reached this afternoon.
Ciara Lawlor died tragically in July 2016 after she collapsed at a Kodaline concert in Marlay Park, Dublin.
The Coroner ruled that Ciara died of natural causes after the inquest heard the beautiful and much-loved young teen lived with a rare genetic heart condition that could cause sudden death.
Her death had a profound effect on the band Kodaline, who have done all they can to keep Ciara’s memory alive since, including penning a song called “Angel” for Ciara, who would have celebrated her 21st birthday this year.
Kodaline also performed at her funeral and help carry the Kilkenny teen’s coffin.
Earlier this summer, at a gig in St Anne’s Park in Dublin – while Kodaline played the special song they wrote in Ciara’s memory, they projected home videos of Ciara, given to them by her family, onto screens around the venue.
